Соліст гурту "Океан Ельзи" співак Святослав Вакарчук заявив, що у 2019 році не братиме участі у президентських виборах, але буде працювати над змінами у країні.

Відповідна заява опублікована на його сторінці у Facebook.

Він зазначив, що питання чи буде балотуватись на посаду президента України у 2019 році, йому ставили протягом року.

"Перш за все, дозвольте подякувати усім, хто мені довіряє – для мене це справді велика честь. І я обіцяю – таку довіру обов’язково виправдаю", - заявив Вакарчук.

"Я неодноразово заявляв, влада як така, президентський пост як такий – мені не цікаві. Мене цікавлять справжні зміни в країні. І щоб розставити всі крапки над "і", зняти всі питання, офіційно заявляю: я, Святослав Вакарчук, не братиму участь в президентських виборах 2019 року", - наголосив він.

Вакарчук додав, що "зараз, в джинсах можу зробити більше для країни, ніж вдягнувши краватку" і  зазначив, що не збирається стояти осторонь.

За його словами, кожного дня, спілкуючись з людьми, відчуває їх розчарування і зневіру і бачить, як корупція і несправедливість роз’їдають  країну зсередини, а безпринципні політики роблять її слабшою.

"Разом з моєю командою, я працюватиму над тим, щоб проєвропейські сили перемогли. Я працюватиму над тим, щоб привести у владу якомога більше молодих професіоналів – людей майбутнього, тих, для кого справедливість і державні інтереси – понад усе", - сказав Вакарчук.

Він додав, що вірить у справжні зміни і пообіцяв бути з людьми на шляху до них.
