В Ірландії опозиція закликала до голосування щодо об’єднання з Північною Ірландією.
 

Про це заявили у найбільшій націоналістичній партії Ірландії Шинн Фейн, яка на виборах 2016 року зайняла 3-тє місце і перебуває в опозиції, повідомляє The Irish Independent.

Підтримка Британією виходу з ЄС у контексті північноірландського голосування за те, щоб лишитись у складі ЄС, має призвести до проведення голосування з приводу ірландської єдності.

У Північній Ірландії майже 441 тисяча виборців проголосували за те, щоб лишитися у ЄС (56%), і майже 350 тисяч за те, щоб піти (44%).

За словами лідера Шинн Фейн Деклана Кірні, після референдуму питання збереження Північної Ірландії у складі Сполученого Королівства постало особливо гостро.

"Ми маємо ситуацію, коли Північ можуть витягти (з ЄС) через голосування Англії", - сказав Кірні.

"Британський уряд зараз втратив свій мандат, щоб представляти Північну Ірландію у ЄС. Ми зараз будемо просувати нашу давню вимогу щодо прикордонного опитування", - додав він.
