В той час, коли депутати підготували три проекти змін до Конституції України і направили відповідні документи на аналіз у Венеціанську комісію, компанія TNS спитала в українців, які зміни вони хочуть бачити в основному законі.

Абсолютна більшість громадян вважає, що новою Конституцією необхідно розширити повноваження регіонів (62%), а також скоротити кількість депутатів у Верховній Раді (62%).

При цьому прихильників розширення повноважень регіональних керівних органів більше на Сході України (68%), а прихильників скорочення Верховної Ради більше на Заході (70%).

Ще 28% громадян вважають за необхідне обмежити повноваження президента. І всього 6% за те, щоб розширити повноваження уряду. Опитування проводилось серед українців в Інтернеті у містах з населенням більше 50 тисяч в травні поточного року. Були опитані 1000 респондентів віком від 18 до 55 років.
