Після того, як Twitter виконав вимоги влади про видалення контенту, доступ до ресурсу на території Туреччини відновили.
 

Рішення про блокування сервісу мікроблогів скасували після того, як соцмережа видалила фотографії прокурора, якого викрали ліворадикальні бойовики,пише Media Sapiens

«Твіттер погодився закрити аккаунти та видалити зображення, що стосуються взяття в заручники минулого тижня прокурора. Сайт буде відкритий для доступу скоро», - сказав представник турецької влади агентству Reuters перед тим, як доступ до сайту відновили.

Загалом блокування Твіттера на території країни тривало кілька годин. YouTube, який також було забанено, ввечері понеділка залишався у Туреччині недоступним.

Нагадаємо, вчора у Туреччині заблокували 166 онлайн-ресурсів за публікацію знімків із зображенням викраденого, а потім убитого терористами, прокурора Стамбула Мехмета Селіма Кіраза (Mehmet Selim Kiraz). Таке рішення суду мотивоване тим, що подібні фото завдають страждань родині загиблого.

Серед заблокованих опинилися популярні соцмережі Facebook, Twitter, а також YouTube. Проте Facebook блокування оминув, оскільки відразу видалив суперечливий контент на вимогу влади.

Раніше в Туреччині вже блокували доступ до соцмереж. 21 березня 2014 року влада країни заблокувала доступ до Twitter по всій території країни. Це відбулося через кілька годин після того, як нинішній президент, а тоді - прем’єр-міністр Туреччини Реджеп Таїп Ердоган, виступаючи на мітингу, пригрозив знищити цю соціальну мережу. Потім заблокували також відеохостинг YouTube.
