Причиною такого рішення керівників кількох телеканалів став протест проти ухваленого парламентом закону щодо посилення контролю над державними ЗМІ, повідомляє Rzeczpospolita.

Зокрема, у відставку подали директор державного телеканалу TVP 1 Петро Радзвієвський, TVP2 - Єжи Капущинський, голова TVP Kultura Катерина Яновська та Фома Зигут, директор Телевізійного Інформаційного Агентства.

Також відомо, що відставку керівників телеканалів вже підписав директор польського держтелебачення TVP Януш Дащинський, передає Українська правда.

1 січня було ухвалено нову редакцію закону, який регулює діяльність державних ЗМІ.

Так, ухвалені поправки до закону, які були запропоновані депутатами правлячої партії "Право і справедливість" передбачають серед іншого дострокове закінчення повноважень членів правління та наглядових рад Польського телебачення та Польського радіо.

Законом передбачається, що членів правління та наглядових рад державних ЗМІ буде затверджувати міністр держскарбниці.

Таким чином, закон скасовує можливість проведення конкурсів на ці посади. Крім того, змінами до закону передбачається скорочення членів правління і наглядових рад державних медіа.

З критикою нового закону виступили ОБСЄ, Європейська мовна спілка та Асоціація європейських журналістів.
