Парламент Болгарії у четвер, 21 квітня, вніс до виборчого кодексу правки, згідно з якими голосування на виборах стало для громадян країни обов'язковим. Причиною такого кроку була низька явка на виборах та потреба посилити легітимність політичних інституцій, повідомляє DW.COM

Відповідні зміни до виборчого кодексу ініціювали законодавці з урядової партії ГЕРБ та їхні союзники. Для тих, хто не захоче віддавати свій голос за жодну з політичних сил, матимуть можливість обирати варіант: "Не голосую ні за кого".

 

Законопроект також передбачає можливість заохочення тих, хто голосує. Тих же, хто не приходить на виборчі дільниці, законодавці пропонують виключати з виборчих списків. Для того, щоб взяти участь у голосуванні, таким людям доведеться подавати повторну заявку на включення до списків.

У січні 2016 року болгарський парламент вже схвалив можливість електронного голосування, щоб дати можливість голосувати болгарам, які проживають за кордоном. Напарламентських виборах 2014 року явка склала 48 відсотків, що стало найнижчим показником за останні 25 років.
