Сервіс мікроблогів Twitter запровадив новий інструмент для боротьби зі цькуванням в інтернеті. Акаунти користувачів, які порушили правила спілкування в Twitter, будуть працювати з обмеженням - на час блокування їх пости будуть бачити лише їх підписники, передає Media Sapiens.
 

Про новий вид блокування написав сайт BuzzFeed, з посиланням на користувачів, чиї акаунти потрапили під його дію. Вони отримали від Twitter листи, в яких спершу наголошувалось на політиці створення безпечного інтернет-середовища, якої дотримується компанія, а також наводились пояснення, чому їх профілі в сервісі були заблоковані. Користувачі припускають, що тимчасові обмеження вводяться за використання ненормативної або образливої лексики. Вони також припустили, що функція працює автоматично, але офіційних підтверджень цьому немає.

Видання Heatstreet повідомляє про те, що деяких користувачів блокували за використання слів «відсталий» та «нігер». Акаунт іншого користувача потрапив під обмеження після того, як він назвав главу комітету зі збройних сил Сенату США Джона Маккейна зрадником США.  Користувач на ім'я Майк Дісенсо (Mike DiCenso ) написав: «Twitter тільки що обмежив мій акаунт. Схоже, свобода слова у нас обмежена». В мережі також з'явилися пропозиції писати образливі слова, які відфільтровує алгоритм, із помилками, аби він не міг їх розрізнити.

Минулого року Twitter запустив нові фільтри, аби користувачі могли регулювати контент та коментарі, які вони бачать у сервісі. «Нові фільтри зроблять Twitter більш гостинним місцем для тих, хто хоче висловити свою думку без необхідності потім перебирати потік критики», - заявила тоді компанія.
