У Білому домі вважають, пише The Guardian, що "Йейтс зрадила міністерство юстиції, відмовившись виконувати указ, спрямований на захист громадян США".

На цей пост американський лідер призначив прокурора Східного округу штату Вірджинія Дана Боенте.

Йетс, яка очолює Міністерство юстиції США, раніше розпорядилася, щоб юристи відомства не захищали в суді указ Трампа про посилення міграційної політики.

"До тих пір, поки я є чинним генеральним прокурором, Міністерство юстиції не буде представляти аргументи на захист виконавчого наказу, якщо тільки я не буду переконана в тому, що слід робити саме це", – наводить її слова The New York Times.
