«Там есть просто невероятная, невиданная злость», — рассказал политик в разговоре с журналистом Андерсоном Купером. Он отметил, что очень трудно провести грань между религией и радикальной идеологией, между обычными мусульманами и экстремистами.

В ходе предвыборных дебатов модератор спросил у Трампа, имел ли он в виду всех мусульман, говоря о ненависти. «Я говорил об огромном числе. Невероятная ненависть», — ответил тот, отметив, что надо решать проблему, а не прятаться за политкорректностью.

7 декабря 2015 года он уже выступил за «всеобщий и полный запрет» на въезд в США для мусульман, пока спецслужбы «не разберутся в ситуации» с радикализмом.

Дональд Трамп известен своей манерой не стесняться в выражениях. Многие наблюдатели считают его поведение во время выступлений хамским и оскорбительным. Тем не менее, пока он лидирует в гонке за право выдвинуться на выборы президента от Республиканской партии.
