Представитель Даунинг-стрит, 10 сообщил, что фотосессия планировалась давно, а снимки Мэй выйдут в апрельском номере журнала.

Съемку провела американский фотограф Энни Лейбовиц, которая специализируется на портретах знаменитостей. Она, в частности, фотографировала первую леди США Мишель Обаму, а также бывшего кандидата на пост президента США Хиллари Клинтон.

Бывший премьер-министр Великобритании Маргарет Тэтчер четыре раза снималась для британской версии Vogue. Тэтчер также была известна любовью к моде.
