Популярні месенджери Telegram і WhatsApp більше не підтримують старі версії Android і iOS.

У випадку з WhatsApp мова йде про смартфони та планшети під управлінням Android 2.1, Android 2.2, Windows Phone 7.1 і iOS 6, зазначає 4pda.

З 1 січня власники даних девайсів більше не можуть приймати і відправляти повідомлення через WhatsApp. Спочатку месенджер також мав перестати працювати на пристроях під управлінням Nokia S40, Nokia Symbian S60, BlackBerry 10 і BlackBerry OS, але розробники вирішили продовжити для них підтримку до 30 червня 2017 року.

Слідом за WhatsApp підтримку старих пристроїв припинив інший популярний сервіс - Telegram. Месенджер від Павла Дурова, творця соціальної мережі Вконтакті, відтепер недоступний на смартфонах, що працюють під управлінням Android 2.2, Android 2.3 або Android 3.0. Тепер Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich є мінімальною підтримуваної версією Android, для якої будуть виходити оновлення Telegram.

За останніми даними, під управлінням Android 2.2-3.0 працює близько 1,4% активних Android-пристроїв, тобто більше 20 мільйонів гаджетів.
