Вищий адміністративний суд України визнав протиправною бездіяльність президента України Петра Порошенка щодо зміни чинного складу Центральної виборчої комісії. Водночас суд відмовився зобов`язати президента внести до Верховної Ради подання щодо заміни членів ЦВК. 

 
У жовтні Радикальна партія подала позов до Вищого адміністративного суду України з вимогою до президента України внести подання на призначення нових членів Центральної виборчої комісії. 

Наприкінці жовтня президент України Петро Порошенко заявив, що очікує від парламентських фракцій пропозиції щодо кандидатур до нового складу Центральної виборчої комісії після оголошення результатів місцевих виборів.

Верховна Рада України призначає на посади та звільняє з посад членів ЦВК за поданням президента України. У поданнівраховуються пропозиції депутатських фракцій і груп. Кандидатури попередньо обговорюються в депутатських фракціях. До складу ЦВК входять 15 членів комісії. Згідно з чинним законодавством, каденція членів ЦВК становить сім років.
