В Facebook обнаружили «российское влияние» в Инстаграме на выборы президента США. Компания выяснила, что политические записи охватили более 20 миллионов американцев. Об этом представители Facebook сообщили во время второго слушания конгресса по вопросу влияния России на американские выборы.

Facebook подсчитал, что «российскую пропаганду» в соцсети увидели 126 миллионов человек. Ещё 20 миллионов человек увидели её в Инстаграме, где опубликовали около 120 тысяч записей. В Facebook не уточнили, пересекаются ли эти аудитории, но если это разные люди, то «российскому влиянию» подверглись не менее 146 миллионов человек.

7 сентября Facebook заявил, что обнаружил политическую рекламу на тему американских выборов, отправленную с российских аккаунтов. Общая стоимость объявлений составляла 100 тысяч долларов, она была направлена на «провокацию противоречий в США перед президентскими выборами». Позже соцсеть объявила, что её увидели 10 миллионов человек.

В конце сентября Twitter вслед за Facebook обнаружил политическую рекламу, отправленную с российских аккаунтов. По последним данным, для этого использовали около 2700 аккаунтов.
