В УЄФА наразі не збирається повертати до змагань російські футбольні клуби та збірну. Про це повідомив президент організації Александер Чеферін. За його словами представники країни-агресорки будуть відсторонені від європейських змагань до кінця війни. "Росія буде відсторонена до кінця війни", - цитує Чеферіна видання Metropolitan.si.

Окрім того, президент УЄФА розповів, чому організація свого часу розірвала вигідний спонсорський контракт з Газпромом.

"Це просто треба було зробити як певним чином символічний акт. Навряд чи ми могли показувати рекламу цієї компанії на стадіонах, коли матчі дивляться сотні мільйонів людей.

Мені прикро, що це так, але ми повинні були це зробити. Але також факт, що ті, хто все ще купує газ у цієї ж компанії, найбільше кричать з цього приводу", - сказав Чеферін.

Нагадаємо, що через повномасштабне вторгнення кремлівських військ на територію України УЄФА застосувала санкції проти агресорки, відсторонивши її футбольні клуби та збірні від змаганнь.
