34-річний росіянин Володимир Дрінкман визнав свою провину у крадіжці номерів більше 160 мільйонів банківських карт, яка спричинила збитки на загальну суму понад 300 млн доларів.

Хакеру загрожує до 30 років позбавлення волі, повідомляє Укрінформ із посиланням на Reuters.

"Такі відповідачі, як Володимир Дрінкман, мають навички для зламу наших комп'ютерних мереж і нахили, щоб так вчинити, тому представляють загрозу для нашого економічного добробуту, нашого особистого життя і нашої національної безпеки", - заявив прокурор США Пол Фішман в Нью-Джерсі.

В результаті дій Дрінкмана постраждали 16 компаній, серед яких були Nasdaq, торгова мережа 7-Eleven, французька компанія Carrefour SA, авіакомпанія JetBlue, компанії Visa Inc licensee, Heartland Payment Systems й інші.

Раніше прокурори назвали цю кібератаку найбільшою хакерською аферою в історії США.
