Телеканал Russia Today (RT) запустив проект Fakecheck, покликаний викривати брехливі новини. Про це пише "Сноб".

Поки в проекті опублікували шість історій. Чотири з них присвячені Сирії і нібито несправедливій критиці сирійського президента Башара Асада, дві інші — нібито несправедливій критиці президента США Дональда Трампа.

В більшості історій Russia Today будує викриття на одному джерелі.

Russia Today — російський іншомовний телеканал, який фінансується Кремлем. У листопаді Європарламент прийняв резолюцію про протидію російській пропаганді, в якій основними загрозами визнали RT і інформаційне агентство Sputnik, теж фінансується Кремлем.
