Федеральний уряд США скасував грантове фінансування всієї мережі "Радіо Свобода". Про це повідомив  президент RFE/RL Стівен Капус

Він заявив, що скасування фінансування «стане величезним подарунком ворогам Америки».

“Розірвання грантової угоди Радіо Вільна Європа/Радіо Свобода стало би величезним подарунком ворогам Америки. Іранські аятоли, китайські комуністичні лідери, автократи в Москві та Мінську святкуватимуть закриття Радіо Вільна Європа/Радіо Свобода через 75 років. Перемога наших супротивників зробила би їх сильнішими, а Америку слабшою”

Раніше співробітники «Голосу Америки» почали отримувати листи про примусове відправлення у відпустку.

Кілька таких листів бачило Reuters, також про це пише NYT. Це сталося за кілька годин після того, як Трамп підписав закон про скорочення Агентства глобальних медіа, що керує «Голосом Америки» і «Радіо Свобода».
