Фінансова прокуратура Франції почала попереднє розслідування справи щодо Пенелопи Фійон, дружини кандидата у президенти Франції від партії "Республіканці" Франсуа Фійона. Про це рішення прокуратура оголосила у середу, 25 січня.

Йдеться про можливе зловживання публічними коштами. Пенелопа Фійон працювала помічницею свого чоловіка, коли той був депутатом у 1998-2002 роках, а згодом помічницею його наступника. Прокуратуру цікавить, чи не йдеться тут лише про формальне працевлаштування для отримання неправомірного доходу. У Франції парламентарям не заборонено наймати членів сім'ї, але лише в тому разі, якщо вони справді виконують роботу. Втім, як зауважує агенція AFP, питання викликає, що Пенелопа Фійон отримувала подекуди до семи тисяч євро на місяць.

Про можливе зловживання першою написала газета Le Canard Enchaine. За її інформацією, за близько вісім років вона отримала близько 500 тисяч євро. Крім того, газета стверджує, що не знайшла нікого, хто би пам'ятав, що Пенелопа Фійон працювала у парламенті.

Франсуа Фійон відкинув усі закиди. "Я бачу, що сезон поливання брудом розпочався", - цитує кандидата агенція Reuters.

Консервативний екс-прем'єр Франсуа Фійон має високі шанси вийти у другий тур виборів, які відбудуться у квітні-травні. Його вважають симпатиком Росії. У нещодавній заяві Фійон наголосив, що санкції проти Росії є неефективними, хоча Москва повинна зробити певні кроки для скасування санкцій.
