Президентом Парламентської асамблеї Ради Європи буде переобрано діючого президента, політика від Іспанії Педро Аграмунта.

Питання виборів президента стоїть першим на порядку денному зимової сесії ПАРЄ, що триватиме з 23-го до 27 січня. Вибори президента ПАРЄ відбуваються кожні два роки.
