Состоялось заседание депутатской комиссии Полтавского городского совета по вопросам развития предпринимательской деятельности, развития города, инвестиций, туризма (председатель комиссии Юрий Бойко). Одним из вопросов повестки дня комиссии был вопрос о логотипе Полтавы, ведь его презентация на коммунальном сайте «Полтава туристическая» от Киевской студии Артемия Лебедева вызвала значительный резонанс в Полтаве и Украине. К спорной художественной ценности лого добавилась политика — господин Лебедев среди прочего признал законной принадлежность Крыма к России.
Перед заседанием комиссии к журналистам вышла заместитель мэра Светлана Тарашевская, которая с долей возмущения сообщила, что впервые её подчинённый принимает какие-то решения, не поставив в известность ни её, ни начальника управления культуры. По её словам, ни одной копейки из бюджета на логотип не было потрачено и не могло потратиться в принципе, потому что никто из исполкома не был в курсе происходящего. Решение о размещении логотипа принял начальник отдела туризма и культурного наследия управления культуры Полтавского горисполкома Виталий Павлов. Заместитель мэра теперь допускает, что ответственность виновного может закончится его увольнением по собственному желанию.
Логотип Полтавы был сформирован на основе древнего герба казацкого города ХVІІ века (нынешнего официального герба Полтавы) и сочетает ключевой его элемент — лук с направленной вниз стрелой в обрамлении изумрудной зелени города. .
Верхняя часть логотипа содержит три бутона цветка, что символизирует три исторических холма древней Полтавы: центральная — Иванова Гора, слева — Монастырская, справа — Институтская. В целом логотип напоминает первую букву в названии города — букву «П»
