Каталонський парламент у середу проголосував за проведення референдуму про незалежність 1 жовтня та процес відокремлення від Іспанії, якщо громадяни проголосують "за".

Про це повідомляє Європейська правда із посиланням на Reuters.

Після 12 годин дискусії більшість парламентарів схвалила відповідне законодавство, яке дозволяє проголосити незалежність Каталонії вже за 48 годин у разі отримання згоди населення.

Депутати, які виступали проти незалежності, покинули залу перед голосуванням. Прихильники відокремлення на чолі з главою регіону Карлесом Пучдемоном після переможних результатів заспівали гімн Каталонії.

 На референдумі каталонцям поставлять запитання "Чи хочете ви, щоб Каталонія стала незалежною республікою?". Як відзначає агентство, кількість прихильників незалежності у Каталонії зменшується на тлі покращення економічної ситуації в країні. Втім більшість каталонців хочуть мати можливість проголосувати щодо цього питання.

Іспанський уряд виступає проти проведення референдуму. Раніше Мадрид звернувся у Конституційний суд з проханням визнати рішення про референдум незаконним, адже Конституція Іспанії говорить про неподільність країни.
