Міністр оборони нагадав Ізраїлю в Twitter про те, що «Пакистан також є ядерною державою». Інцидент спровокувала фейкова новина, в якій Ізраїль буцімто погрожував знищити Пакистан, передає Media Sapiens
 

Новина була опублікована на сайті AWD News із заголовком «Міністр оборони Ізраїлю: Якщо Пакистан відправити наземні війська в Сирію під будь-яким приводом, ми знищимо цю країну ядерною зброєю», цитує The Guardian.

У відповідь на новину міністр оборони Пакистану Хаваджа Мухаммад Асіф (Khawaja Mohammad Asif) опублікував попередження для Ізраїлю на Twitter, написавши що «Пакистан також є ядерною державою». 

Міністерство оборони Ізраїлю відповіло теж в мережі мікроблогів Twitter, написавши, що  новина була «повністю вигаданою». 

Згодом сайт AWD був визнаний організаціями, які спеціалізуються на фактчекінгу як такий, що поширює фейки.  

Раніше в цьому місяці чоловік у США вчинив стрілянину через фейкову новину про «Піцагейт» та Гілларі Клінтон. У ній Клінтон та очільник її передвиборчої кампанії Джон Подеста звинувачувалися в сексуальній експлуатації та торгівлі дітьми під прикриттям ресторану.
