Право на размещение временной татуировки с рекламой легкоатлет из США выставил на аукцион eBay. Он готов нанести временный рисунок на правое плечо, так как левое уже занято рекламой жевательной резинки Run Gum.

Выигрышную ставку сделал гендиректор T-Mobile Джон Леджер. Симмондс пообещал разместить татуировку на время всего сезона.

Легкоатлет отмечает, что в случае участия в Олимпиаде в Рио-де-Жанейро, его могут заставить избавится от татуировки из-за «устаревших правил». Согласно правилам, спортсменам на Олимпиаде запрещено носить на себе какую-либо символику, кроме производителей спортивных товаров, спонсирующих игры.

Ранее представитель МОК заявил, что спортсменов с татуировками, вероятно, не будут отстранять от Олимпиады в 2016 году. Прежде спортсменов с татуировками могли отстранить из-за того, что татуировки являются нарушением правил рекламы на Олимпиаде.
