Президент США Барак Обама виступив у Філадельфії в рамках передвиборчої кампанії Гілларі Клінтон і розкритикував її конкурента від Республіканської партії Дональда Трампа. Зокрема, він порівняв рейтинги екс-президента Іраку Саддама Хусейна та президента Росії Володимира Путіна.

Американський лідер пригадав Трампу його інтерв'ю російському "державному телебаченню" - Russia Today. Під час нього одіозний кандидат в президенти назвав Обаму слабким очільником, навівши приклад Путіна, який має в Росії 82% підтримки.   "Саддам Хусейн мав 90% рейтингу згідно з опитуваннями", - відповів йому чинний президент, очевидно, натякаючи на політичні методи диктатора і його подальшу долю.

Також Обама під час збору благодійних коштів у Нью-Йорку ввечері висловив здивування, що Республіканська партія обрала Трампа своїм кандидатом в президенти. "(Вони висунули, - ред.) хлопця, який активно просуває і захоплюється іншим хлопцем, який ув'язнює дисидентів і контролює всі державні засоби масової інформації, всі засоби масової інформації в своїй країні.
