Глава США Барак Обама поддержал Хиллари Клинтон в борьбе за пост президента Штатов.

Об этом сообщает ВВС.

 "Я с ней, я воодушевлен и мне не терпится начать предвыборную кампанию вместе с Хиллари… Десятки миллионов американцев уже подали свои голоса. Сегодня я хочу добавить мой голос ", - заявил он.

"Для меня - радость и честь, что мы с президентом Обамой после многих лет яростной конкуренции стали настоящими друзьями", - ответила на это Клинтон.

По итогам прошедших во вторник демократических праймериз в Нью-Джерси Хиллари Клинтон набрала достаточное число голосов делегатов партийного съезда, чтобы стать первой в истории женщиной, номинированной одной из основных партий на пост президента США.

При этом ее главный соперник сенатор Берни Сандерс потерял все шансы догнать Клинтон по числу голосов делегатов. В среду Обама выразил надежду на то, что Сандерс в ближайшее время признает поражение, что позволит восстановить единство в рядах Демократической партии.

Однако Сандерс сообщил журналистам, что на следующей неделе примет участие в финальных праймериз демократов в Вашингтоне.

Также он пообещал сделать все возможное, чтобы республиканец Дональд Трамп не стал президентом, и заявил о готовности сотрудничать с Хиллари Клинтон в борьбе против Трампа.
