Министерство юстиции США в декабре собирается объявить о начале нескольких дел, фигурантами которых, в том числе по обвинениям в хакерских атаках на телеканал HBO, станут иранцы. Об этом сообщили несколько знакомых с ситуацией источников, передает The Washington Post.

По информации издания, в прошлом месяце соответствующие расследования с целью их дальнейшего обнародования были переданы прокурорам по национальной безопасности.

Согласно источникам газеты, в органах правопорядка США обеспокоены подобными планами — некоторые сотрудники правоохранительных органов опасаются, что это может усилить давление на законодателей, которые вскоре должны будут принять решение относительно введения против Ирана новых санкций.

Кроме того, упомянутые планы Минюста, по мнению правоохранителей, могут поставить под угрозу текущую следственную работу и затруднить обнаружение подозреваемых, которые могут из-за этого покинуть Иран.

Представитель американского министерства юстиции отказался комментировать данную информацию.

Напомним, в начале ноября президент США Дональд Трамп продлил на год односторонние санкции в отношении Ирана, которые были введены в 1979 году.
