​Meta вирішила закрити CrowdTangle, інструмент, який допомагав дослідникам і журналістам відстежувати дезінформацію на Facebook та Instagram

 Це рішення викликало хвилю обурення, особливо враховуючи наближення виборів у США, коли боротьба з дезінформацією стає критично важливою.

 CrowdTangle використовувався для досліджень розповсюдження неправдивої інформації та моніторингу впливу, наприклад, російських операцій впливу чи конспірологічних теорій QAnon. Інструмент був надзвичайно корисним для виявлення загроз безпеці та забезпечення прозорості.

 Meta замінює CrowdTangle новим інструментом під назвою Meta Content Library, але доступ до нього значно обмежений. Дослідники висловлюють сумніви, що новий інструмент зможе повністю замінити можливості CrowdTangle, особливо з огляду на його важливу роль у попередні роки.
