Центр державної мови Латвії вирішив оштрафувати мера Риги Ніла Ушакова за спілкування на сторінках Ризької думи у соцмережах російською мовою.

Про це він написав на своїй сторінці у Facebook, пише УП

"Центр державної мови все ж прийняв рішення оштрафувати мене за те, що Ризька дума в соціальних мережах (Facebook, Twitter і Instagram) спілкується російською мовою", - написав Ушаков.

При цьому мер Риги не уточнив розмір штрафу.

Він зазначив, що закон про державну мову не регулює мову спілкування самоуправління з місцевими жителями в зарубіжних соцмережах.

"Звісно, що це протиправне рішення буде оскаржене" - заявив Ушаков.

"Ризька дума продовжить, як і раніше, спілкуватися зі своїми жителями в поточному режимі, тобто щонайменше трьома мовами – латиською, російською, англійською", - наголосив він.
