Фундація EurActive проаналізувала дані про доступ до Всесвітньої мережі у різних країнах світу та підготувала інфографіку «Closing the internet gap»,пише Media Sapiens

 

До списку найменш приєднаних до інтернету країн внесено 42 держави, у яких проживає 2,5 мільярда людей, великий відсоток яких – селяни.

Найгірше покриті інтернет-зв’язком країни Центральної Африки, Індія та сусідні до неї держави.

Стосовно відсотка осіб, які користуються інтернетом, то найбільший він у Європі (74,8) та Америці (65,5), а найнижчий – в Африці (19).

Разом з тим, кількість інтернет-користувачів у країнах, що розвиваються, за останні 5 років подвоїлася. Велику роль у цьому відіграла поява смартфонів.

Згідно з прогнозами дослідницької компанії eMarketer, до 2018 року половина населення світу буде онлайн.

Нагадаємо також, що влітку неприбутковий проект Internet.org, що здійснюється за підтримки компанії Facebook, частково забезпечив Замбію вільним доступом до мобільного інтернету.
