Співрозмовники видання кажуть, що королева, як і раніше, віддана своєму обов'язку. За їхніми словами, інформація про те, що Єлизавета II збирається здійснити запит на Акт про регентство, не відповідає дійсності.

Три джерела сказали, що про підготовку передавання трону 68-річному принцу Чарльзу не йдеться.

Видання Mirror писало, що Єлизавета II готується зректися престолу в 95 років. За інформацією Daily Mail, є імовірність, що вона може здійснити запит на Акт про регентство, який передбачає, що Чарльз стане принцом-регентом, узявши на себе зобов'язання монарха.

Церемонія коронації Єлизавети ІІ відбулася 2 червня 1953 року, але фактично вона стала королевою 6 лютого 1952 року – у день смерті батька, короля Георга VI. Як монарх, який найдовше перебуває на троні, Єлизавета II перевершила королеву Вікторію 2015 року.
