Коммунистическая партия Украины будет участвовать в местных выборах 25 октября, заявил на пресс-конференции в Киеве лидер КПУ Петр Симоненко, передает ВВС

По словам Симоненко, партия уже утвердила стратегию на местных выборах. Если КПУ станут мешать участвовать в выборах, она будет выдвигать своих кандидатов в мажоритарных округах, добавил он.

По опросу Киевского международного института социологии, опубликованному 20 июля, на местных выборах КПУ может рассчитывать на голоса 1% избирателей.

21 мая на Украине вступил в силу закон о запрете пропаганды коммунизма и нацизма, а также их символики.

Симоненко считает, что президент Украины Петр Порошенко будет "напрямую диктовать" условия Центральной избирательной комиссии в том, что касается проведения выборов в районах Донбасса, находящихся под контролем Киева.

Ранее было принято решение, что местные выборы не будут проводиться в районах Донбасса, подконтрольных вооруженным представителям самопровозглашенных республик Донбасса, а также в аннексированном Россией Крыму и Севастополе.

Об отказе от участия в местных выборах на этой неделе объявил националистический "Правый сектор", который признан в России экстремистской организацией. Ее деятельность на территории страны запрещена.
