Представник компанії Facebook заявив, що тимчасове обмеження функцій для акаунта російського телеканалу RT ніяк не пов'язане з політичними мотивами. «Всі можливості для цієї сторінки тепер відновлені. Ми розбираємося в причинах тимчасового блокування», - цитує заяву представника Facebook Variety, передає Media Sapiens
 

Раніше представники телеканалу RT повідомили, що Facebook заблокував їм можливість публікувати повідомлення з посиланнями, картинками, Gif та відео. Блокування наклали через імовірну відсутність прав на трансляцію останньої прес-конференції президента США Барака Обами 18 січня. Блокування тривало близько 20 годин.

Телеканал RT заявив, що причиною блокування стала скарга від російськомовного проекту «Радіо Свобода» «Настоящее время». Поект свою причетність до інциденту заперечив.  

Минулого тижня телеканал американського Конгресу C-Span несподівано перервав стандартне мовлення і протягом 10 хвилин транслював ефір RT. Згодом C-Span виступив із заявою в Twitter, пояснивши ситуацію технічною помилкою.

Нагадаємо, значна частина звіту, підготованого американськими спецслужбами щодо причетності Росії до кібератак на США та спроб вплинути на результати президентських виборів, присвячена телеканалу RT. Зокрема у ньому наголошується на тісних зв'язках RT з російським урядом, які сторони намагаються приховати.
