Ключові політики правлячої партії Польщі "Право і справедливість" розглядають можливість відійти від прямих виборів війтів, бурмістрів та президентів (мерів) міст.

Про це повідомляє Європейська правда із посиланням на  RMF24.  

За даними кореспондента RMF FM, ця поправка може бути запропонована під час розгляду змін до Виборчого кодексу у другому читанні. Наразі такими є плани керівної партії напередодні місцевих виборів наступного року, відзначає видання.

Якщо ці плани будуть втілені в життя, це означатиме революцію перед майбутньою виборчою кампанією, повернення до принципів 2002 року і ослаблення ролі виборців. Якщо зміни набудуть чинності, місцеву владу обиратимуть ради міст та муніципалітетів.

За даними ЗМІ, глава "Права і Справедливості" Ярослав Качинський підтримує непрямі вибори. Однак він боїться сильного спротиву з боку місцевих органів влади, тому доля цієї ідеї досі не вирішена остаточно.

Польська опозиція критикує можливі зміни виборчого законодавства, називаючи їх антидемократичними.
