Американский хип-хоп исполнитель Кендрик Ламар удостоен Пулитцеровской премии. Рэпер получил награду в категории "Музыка" за альбом DAMN.

Об этом сообщает Апостроф со ссилкой на Associated Press.

Пулитцеровский комитет отметил, что данный альбом отражает сложность афроамериканской жизни.

Издание отмечает, что до этого в области музыки вручали только за классические и джазовые произведения. Победителей премии объявили в Нью-Йорке.

DAMN - четвертый студийный альбом Кендрика Ламара. Пластинка вышла 14 апреля 2017 года. В альбом вошли такие песни, как BLOOD, DNA, YAH, HUMBLE и другие.

Пулитцеровская премия - одна из самых престижных наград в США, которая вручается с 1917 года. Она носит имя ее учредителя – американского журналиста Джозефа Пулитцера. Награда присуждается в 21 категории. Размер Пулитцеровской премии с 2017 года составляет 15 тысяч долларов, до этого победитель получал 10 тысяч.
