Видеофейки кажутся людям более достоверными, чем аналогичные новости в текстовом или аудиоформате. К такому выводу пришли американские ученые после трех экспериментов с участием добровольцев из Индии, пишет Naked Science.

Участникам исследования показывали фейковые новости в трех форматах: видео, аудио и текстовом. Роликам поверили 58% добровольцам, остальным видам сообщений — 48%. Также видеофейками чаще делились друг с другом, чем другими ложными новостями.

Ученые объясняют это тем, что людям всегда более реальным кажется то, что они видят, а не слышат или читают. Кроме того, при просмотре роликов не нужно включать воображение. Значит, мозг проделывает меньше когнитивной работы.
