Як стало відомо, вперше в історії існування європейських інститутів депутатом Європарламенту була обрана українка - за корінням і громадянством. Про це пише Європейська правда, передає УНІАН.

Це представниця закордонних угорців, викладач Закарпатського угорського інституту Андрея Бочкор, яка виграла вибори від правлячої коаліцій Угорщини - альянсу "Фідесу"  та Христиансько-демократичної партії. Вона була дев'ятою у виборчому списку альянсу.

Закарпатські ЗМІ зазначають, що Бочкор не лише має український паспорт, а й проживає в Україні, а саме в місті Берегово (Закарпатська область). Очевидно, що окрім українського вона має також угорське громадянство - ця практика досить поширена серед представників угорської меншини в Україні.

"Я планую працювати у Брюсселі, аби сприяти інтеграції України до Європейского Союзу, а також відображати інтереси угорської громади Закарпаття", - зазначила Андрея Бочкор. Як відомо, угорці, що проживають в Україні і мають подвійне громадянство, на угорських виборах можуть голосувати на українській території - виборчі дільниці були розташовані в угорських консульствах в Берегово та Ужгороді. Угорська правляча коаліція на минулих виборах до ЄП надала закордонним угорцям два місця у прохідній частині списку - на десятому місці був також Андор Делі з Союзу угорців Воєводини (Сербія).
