Компания Google объявила о запуске нового масштабного проекта, который поможет проверять новости, на содержание недостоверной информации, сообщает TechCrunch.

По данным издания, проект носит название CrossCheck.

Отмечается, что целью CrossCheck является развитие инструментов по борьбе с верификацией новостей, которые появляются онлайн.

Таким образом, медиа- и IT-компании объединят свои усилия, чтобы все слухи, информационные вбросы и фейковые публикации были своевременно развенчаны и удалены из просторов интернета.

Планируется, что сервис запустится 27 февраля во Франции и будет активно работать во время президентских выборов в стране.
