Google вирішила відключити формат «живого пошуку», при якому результати з'являлися паралельно з набором тексту і змінювалися залежно від того, який запит вводить користувач.

Як пояснив пошуковик, нині більше 50% запитів припадає на смартфони та пристрої з іншими способами введення і екранами. Тому компанія вирішила відмовитися від миттєвого пошуку, зосередившись натомість на «розробці більш швидкої пошукової машини для будь-яких пристроїв».

Тепер під час введення пошукового запиту в рядок Google пропонуватиме різні варіанти, але користувач має або обрати один з них, або ж написати свій власний запит і натиснути Enter або кнопку «Пошук».

Миттєвий пошук був запроваджений в 2010 році. Він мав передбачати, що саме шукає користувач, і виводити відповідні результати на екран.

Раніше Google додала в свій пошук функцію, яка дозволяє шукати в особистих даних користувача. Пошук може бути здійснений у фотографіях, листуванні Gmail, даних на Диску тощо.
