 Google оголосив, що з наступного року припинить показ політичної реклами в країнах Європейського Союзу. Причиною такого рішення стали нові регуляції прозорості та таргетингу політичної реклами (TTPA), які, за словами компанії, створюють серйозні операційні виклики та юридичну невизначеність.  

 TTPA, які набудуть чинності в жовтні 2025 року, мають на меті попередження втручання у вибори та забезпечення виборців достовірною інформацією. Вони вимагатимуть чіткого маркування політичної реклами, розкриття інформації про її замовників, бюджет та цільову аудиторію. Крім того, рекламодавці повинні отримувати згоду користувачів на показ такої реклами та не використовувати дані неповнолітніх або іншу чутливу інформацію.  

 Google зазначив, що визначення політичної реклами в рамках TTPA є занадто широким і складним для застосування в масштабі ЄС. Компанія вважає, що регуляції не надають достатньої ясності, яка дозволила б виконувати вимоги. Через це компанія планує припинити показ політичної реклами ще до набуття чинності нових правил.  

 Це не перший випадок, коли Google припиняє показ політичної реклами через регуляторні виклики. Подібні кроки компанія вже робила у Франції, Канаді та Бразилії.  

 Google заявляє, що продовжить аналізувати своє рішення і надасть більше інформації про точні терміни припинення показу реклами наступного року. Тим часом компанія закликає до більш чітких і конкретних регуляторних рамок, які б дозволили технологічним гігантам дотримуватися вимог без значних ризиків для їхніх операцій.
