В Google Play выбор объяснили тем, что это приложение "отличилось своим красивым дизайном, уникальными обновлениями и особой популярностью".

Лучшим развлекательным признано приложение VK Live. Оно же стало лидером по числу скачиваний в 2017 году. За все время VK Live установили 5 млн пользователей.

Лучшим социальным приложением стал сервис для поиска попутчиков BeepCar. Лучшим ежедневным помощником признан дневник Journey, в котором можно хранить свои воспоминания. В категории самых инновационных приложений победил сервис для путешественников Airbnb. Лучшим выбором для детей названо приложение "Астрономия от Star Walk".

В номинации "Самый большой скрытый потенциал" победило приложение Be My Eyes. С его помощью волонтеры могут по видеосвязи отвечать на запросы людей с нарушениями зрения, которые обращаются за помощью в разных ситуациях.
