Кошти отримає британське національне новинне агентство Press Association, повідомляє BBC. Як розповів головний редактор Press Association Пітер Кліфтон (Peter Clifton), пошуком інформації та написанням новин як і раніше будуть займатися журналісти. А штучний інтелект буде використовуватися для збільшення кількості текстів. Журналісти шукатимуть інформацію у відкритих джерелах і складатимуть докладні шаблони для таких тематик, як кримінал, здоров'я і робота. Система в свою чергу буде створювати кілька версій новини й автоматично генеруватиме графіку, відео і зображення для додавання в публікацію.
Планується, що система щомісяця створюватиме до 30 тисяч новин. Проект отримав назву Radar (Reporters And Data And Robots - MS) - «Репортери, дані й роботи». Творці Radar вважають, що він значно змінить роботу медіа у Великобританії та Ірландії. Запуск Radar планується на початку 2018 року, коли Press Association виповниться 150 років з дня заснування.
Раніше в рамках проекту Digital News Initiative компанія Google профінансувала проекти 128 новинних видань з 23 європейських країн. Загалом минулого року на роботу в малих та крупних проектах для просування інновацій в усій галузі Google виділила понад 27 мільйонів євро.
