Робота італійського відеохудожника Ріно Стефано Тальяфьерро (Rino Stefano Tagliafierro) була заблокована на Facebook. Про це художник повідомив у передмові до свого відеоролика. «Facebook заблокував моє відео "Краса" (Beauty) через те, що воно містить зображення оголеного тіла, контент, що розпалює ворожнечу та сцени насильства. Мова йде про мистецтво та класичні картини XV та XIX століть», - зазначив художник.

Також Тальяфьерро створив альтернативну версію своєї роботи, в якій інтимні ділянки тіл зображених на картинах персонажів прикриті.

Facebook нещодавно анонсувала пом'якшення цензури в матеріалах користувачів. У компанії готові показувати більше зображень і текстових матеріалів, які зазвичай віддалялися за порушення правил спільноти Facebook. При цьому буде враховуватися, чи був опублікований користувачем контент інформативним для інших. Конкретна дата змін в стандартах цензурування публікацій на Facebook не уточнюється.

Раніше Facebook була розкритикована за видалення знаменитого фото Ніка Ута часів В'єтнамської війни, так як на знімку зображена гола дівчинка. Одна з найбільших газет Норвегії Aftenposten опублікувала на першій шпальті звернення до генерального директора Facebook Марка Цукерберга. В ньому редакція написала про те, що розроблені Facebook алгоритми цензурування контенту, які «не відрізняють документалістику від дитячої порнографії», не повинні впливати на редакційну політику ЗМІ по всьому світу.
