На сьогодні ініціатива Facebook реалізована в 17 країнах, що розвиваються. Та компанія планує розширити кількість країн, в яких буде надаватися безкоштовний базовий пакет інтернету для мобільних телефонів, повідомляє Media Sapiens.

За минулий рік до безкоштовного інтернету були підключені 17 країн, що розвиваються.

У повідомленні в блозі, яке присвячене річниці впровадження ініціативи, йдеться про те, що компанія планує відкрити портал для мобільних операторів, за допомогою якого вони зможуть пропонувати послуги на платформі Internet.org. 

Нині Facebook співпрацює з конкретними операторами в декількох країнах. 

Internet.org надав доступ до інтернету за минулий рік понад 9 мільйонам людей. Він був розроблений Facebook спільно з шістьма провідними технологічними компаніями для того, щоб підключити до мережі більш, ніж 4,5 мільярди людей, переважно в Азії, Африці та Латинській Америці.
