Також для охорони естонсько-російського кордону будуть використовуватися відеокамери і безпілотні літальні апарати.

Департамент поліції і прикордонної охорони Естонії має намір щонайменше 2/3 сухопутної частини кордону з Росією обладнати парканом у 2,5 м заввишки, повідомляє естонське видання Postimees, пише Корреспондент.

Це буде зроблено з метою запобігання порушень кордону, уточнює видання. За його даними, верхня частина загородження буде посилена колючим дротом. Загальна довжина забору сягатиме близько 108 км.

На додаток до паркану передбачається встановити і огорожу, що перешкоджатиме пересуванню диких тварин. На заболочених ділянках лінії кордону забору не буде, там встановлять тільки прикордонні стовпи і прокладуть контрольну смугу.

Окрім того, для охорони кордону будуть використані також відеокамери і безпілотні літальні апарати, а в акваторії Чудського озера будуть розміщені більше 600 прикордонних буйків. Роботи з технічного посилення кордону розпочнуться в 2018 році, їх загальна вартість становитиме 71 млн євро.

Зазначимо, що також Естонія планує в односторонньому порядку провести розмітку кордону з РФ. Естонські прикордонники хочуть встановити 760 прикордонних стовпів, а також 412 буйків - на водному кордоні з Росією. За даними Прикордонної служби Естонії, роботи з демаркації триватимуть кілька років і будуть коштувати більше 26 млн євро.
