Колишній прем’єр-міністр Франції Мануель Вальс оголосив про вихід зі складу Соціалістичної партії, членом якої він був впродовж 37 років.

Про це повідомляє Європейська правда з посиланням на Le Figaro.

"Частина мого політичного життя завершується. Я залишаю Соціалістичну партію або навіть вона залишає мене", - ідеться у заяві колишнього прем’єр-міністра. За даними видання, Мануель Вальс може приєднатися до більшості Еммануеля Макрона у Національних зборах.

Мануель Вальс став членом Соціалістичної партії 1980 року, коли йому було 17 років.

На останніх виборах президента Вальс хотів стати кандидатом на пост глави держави, однак програв праймеріз соціалістів. Після перемоги у першому турі Еммануеля Макрона Вальс заявив про його підтримку. 

На парламентських виборах у червні 2017 року Вальс був обраний до Національних зборів від департаменту Есон, однак він вирішив не балотуватися від соціалістів.
