Новообраний президент США Дональд Трамп вибрав в якості глави Держдепартаменту керівника нафтової корпорації ExxxonMobil Рекса Тіллерсона.

Він має тісні зв'язки з президентом Росії Владіміром Путіним, пише Громадське.ТБ з посиланням на видання The New York Times.

Зауважується, що Тіллерсон не має ні державного, ні дипломатичного досвіду, але має великий досвід роботи зі світовими лідерами і через свою кар'єру в на посту очільника ExxonMobil, з якого він повинен піти у відставку в наступному році у віці 65 років. 

Також нагадується, що Тіллерсон отримав від Путіна «Орден Дружби» у 2013 році.

Також зауважується, що колишній губернатор штату Массачусетс Мітт Ромні, який розглядався у якості кандидата на посаду держсекретаря, вибув з числа претендентів на цей пост.

«Для мене було честю розглядатися в якості кандидата на посаду держсекретаря США», - написав він у Facebook після розмови з Трампом.
