Основатель газеты The Moscow Times Дерк Сауэр опроверг сообщения о планах приобретения им издания

Сегодня Дерк Сауэр опроверг новости о готовящейся покупке им The Moscow Times. Об этом он сообщил РБК, добавив, что «он находится в контакте с владельцем издания по вопросу помощи газете». Медиаменеджер объяснил, что он не может приобрести The Moscow Times, так как он является иностранцем, а согласно российскому закону, вступившему в силу в 2016 году, доля владения отечественными СМИ, принадлежащая иностранным подданным, не должна превышать 20% .

О готовящейся покупке вчера сообщил RNS со ссылкой на неназванные источники. Издание писало, что Дерк Сауэр и члены семьи Демьяна Кудрявцева, которые владеют The Moscow Times, «близки к сделке», добавив, что стороны отказались комментировать известие. 

Издательский дом Independent Media, основанный Дерком Сауэром, запустил газету The Moscow Times в 1992 году. Семья Демьяна Кудрявцева приобрела The Moscow Times в 2015 году.
