Британське видання The Daily Mail опублікувало кольорові знімки Григорія Распутіна, який був другом сім'ї останнього російського імператора Миколи ІІ. Архівні чорно-білі фото "божевільного ченця" були спеціально зроблені кольоровими, щоб показати "темний бік" його особистості, пише Корреспондент

Представлені кадри демонструють холодний і пронизливий погляд блакитноокого Распутіна, який вважається одним із найбільш суперечливих персонажів в російській історії. Також показано кілька знімків "цілителя" з представниками царської сім'ї.

"Це красиві знімки, які допомагають розкрити особистість Распутіна і деякі особливості його міфічного образу. Вони наближають вас до нього, даючи змогу познайомитися краще. Для мене це вікно в минуле, за допомогою якого все незвідане й іноземне раптом стає ближчим", - розповів художник з Данії Мадс Даль Медсен, який працював з фотографіями.

Григорій Распутін, який здобув славу своїми "проріканнями" і "зціленнями", надавав допомогу хворому на гемофілію цесаревичу Олексію. За це він здобув необмежену довіру імператриці Олександри Федорівни та імператора Миколи II.

Користуючись необмеженим впливом на царську сім'ю, "чудотворець" став найголовнішим придворним авантюристом. Він проводив вигідні фінансові операції, брав хабарі за протекцією, і саме з його легкої руки призначалися і зміщувалися найвищі державні чиновники. Распутін був убитий в 1916 році російськими дворянами, які побоювалися його зростаючого впливу.
