Підрозділ матиме назву «77 бригада». Він розпочне роботу у квітні та складатиметься із 1500 фахівців, які знаються на нетрадиційних способах ведення війни в інформаційну добу, повідомляє Media Sapiens

 

 «77 бригада» буде відповідальна за те, що можна назвати «не смертоносною зброєю», пише видання. Ізраїль та США вже активно працюють у сфері психологічних операцій, тепер це робитиме і Великобританія.

Підрозділ складатиметься із військових регулярної армії та запасу. В першу чергу це будуть солдати із журналістськими навиками та вмінням працювати у соціальних мережах.

Таке рішення британської армії вважають наслідком воєнних операцій в Афганістані, також це може бути відповіддю на дії Росії в Україні, зокрема в Криму, і на загрозу з боку ISIS.

Назву бригада  отримала на честь партизанського підрозділу Великобританії «Chindit», який воював проти японської армії у Бірмі під час Другої світової війни.
