Ватажок «Донецької народної республіки» Олександр Захарченко запропонував членам так званого парламенту «ДНР» ввести заборону на в'їзд в підконтрольну бойовикам територію для колишнього українського екс-президента Віктора Януковича і його оточення. У відповідь на слова Олександра Захарченко Микола Азаров, який був раніше прем'єр-міністром України, заявив, що до «ДНР» їхати не мав наміру, передає PRпортал.

Азаров також вважає за потрібне зауважити, що себе не вважає зрадником. 27 березня Захарченко назвав Азарова і Януковича зрадниками. До них «керівник» «ДНР» зарахував також колишнього міністра доходів і зборів Олександра Клименка і екс-главу Нацбанку Сергія Арбузова.

Азаров був з 2010 року по 2014 рік прем'єр-міністром України. Після зміни влади він виїхав з країни і в даний час проживає в Російській Федерації. Азаров в сьогоднішній Україні фігурує у кількох кримінальних виробництвам, пов'язаних з розтратою державних коштів. Зокрема, ім'я цього діяча фігурує в кримінальній справі щодо розкрадання грошей бюджету при формуванні телекомунікаційної урядової мережі спеціального призначення на виробничих потужностях в «Укртелекомі» і в справі щодо незаконного відчуження військової техніки. Екс-прем'єра Азарова включили в свої санкційні списки Сполучені Штати і Європейський Союз.
